is a collection
of 'secret love pieces' written or arranged for ELECTRA, by composers
from around the world.
Internationally
renowned composers and musicians from diverse fields follow their heart:
according to their own secret love in music, they will compose works
for ELECTRA.
The repertoire
will range from the 12th to the 21st century. Some composers will create
entirely new works, some may rearrange their earlier work, others may
pay homage to their musical heritage through radical but respectful
revision. Their wide-ranging efforts will cross genres and cultures
and represent extremes in musical creativity. Some of the pieces will
explore different media.
This exciting
project is constantly evolving and will be further developed in the
season 2007. A preview of 'Secret loves...' took place in Eindhoven
in December 2003, and included new works by Jeremy Beck, Elmer Schönberger,
and Felix Yanov-Yanovsky.
