ELECTRA was
honoured to be a recipient of a major grant in 2002, from the Dutch arts
organisation 'Fonds voor de Podiumkunsten' (Funds for the Performing Arts).
The grant was given in recognition of artistic merit, and supported specifically
the project 'VOICE & VISION', which featured ELECTRA's performances
of Louis Andriessen's Shopping List of a Poisoner and The New Math(s),
Christopher Fox's Notes From a Cold Front, as well as new works by David
Dramm, Ron Ford, Chiel Meijering, and Belinda Reynolds. The new works
for this program were commissioned by ELECTRA and subsequently chosen
for sponsorship by the 'Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst' (Funds for
the Creative Arts).
In 2002/2003,
ELECTRA produced this exciting multi-media program, working with program
director » Henk
Schut to create a dynamic show. An exploration of the relationships
between sung and spoken text, music, and images, 'Voice & Vision'
has been performed at many theaters and concert halls in The Netherlands
and abroad.
